The Point Management page allows the Editor to assign, edit and delete points and point groups to a site or an overview of a project.
The Point Management page is available only from the overview or site management page. You need to create an overview and/or a site in advance. Open the Point Management for a particular overview or site by clicking on the Points link.
The Point Management lists all points and point groups belonging to an overview or a site. The main page of Point Management consists of two parts: on the left side there is the settings table with a list of points added to the overview/site and on the right side there is the 2D map/image over which the Point selector can be overlaid. In smaller screen sizes, where only one part of main page is available, you can switch the views by clicking on and icons.
Settings can be edited for multiple points or point groups simultaneously. Every click on the item name is a selection. Selection assistant is also available with options to select: All, None and Invert selection. |
Clicking on icon on the 2D map/image side of main menu activates the Point selector. Select points and/or point groups you want to add to a site or an overview and add them by clicking on icon. Points can also be filtered by name. Point group items inherit modifications from the GeoMoS Monitor after the re-login, i.e. if point is added or deleted in GeoMoS Monitor, the new situation will be automatically updated in GeoMoS Now!. To hide the Point selector, simply click on icon. Once added, points and point groups are visible in the settings table and on the map automatically.
In 2D map mode you can add points and point groups, while in image mode only standalone points can be added. |
In 2D map background sites points and point groups are located on the map automatically. In image background sites the user has to place the points on image manually. Default position for all the points is 0,0px (bottom left corner of the picture) and position icon is set to inactive mode . Click on the icon and define the position on the image by clicking on it or enter the Right/Up pixel values manually. Once positioned, click on icon to verify its position ( icon) or on the next point position icon in case of positioning multiple points on the image. Every point or point group can easily be removed from a site or an overview by clicking on the icon.
Visibility can be set for each standalone point or point group for everybody , editor only or nobody . You can check visibility options from editor’s and observer’s perspective.
In 2D map mode settings table, there is information whether the input in each line of the table is a standalone point or a point group . In image mode settings table, all inputs are standalone points.
Different icons can be assigned to each point group or standalone point. There are two sets of icons: Standard icons, which are offered by default, and Custom icons, which are uploaded by user on Custom icons site. By clicking on the icon inside the settings table, a context box is displayed next to it, showing available icons. Standard icons circle, rectangle and triangle have the additional feature – colour picker, which is triggered by icon. Selected colour is immediately adopted by icon in the table and on 2D map/image.
Clicking on Custom icons icon leads to Custom icons page. Images representing the icons can be uploaded if they meet the format and size requirements:
Supported file formats: png, jpg, bmp, gif
Supported image size: 12px to 50px in width and height.
Information about uploaded image format and size is available as well. Each image can be deleted from the list if it is not used by a site/overview. Once modified, press back and custom icons list is updated in context box.
There are some rules which apply to Point Management and help to arrange points and point groups belonging to an overview or a site in the fastest and simplest way:
Same Point/Point Group can only be listed once inside the table;
Settings which are set for point groups are inherited by the points which belong to the group;
Point settings overrule group settings for the same point. Therefore if different rules need to be applied for one or more points inside the group, they must be re-added as standalone points;
If the group and subgroup(s) have the same content, changing the settings in the group will have no effect. |
